In light of these parameters the only awards?presented in this event are 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall; and to increase interest in youth for this sport, if both members of the relay team are 19 years of age or under on race day 1st, 2nd and 3rd Youth Awards will also be presented.

For registration purposes for the 3 km Family Fun Run a family is defined as ‘two adults and up to 4 children from the same family unit and who reside at the same family address for a maximum of 6 individuals’ – families with more than 6 members must contact the RCAF Run in advance to make alternate registration arrangements.

All race routes feature the flight line static displays of RCAF aircraft and equipment.? Participants are welcomed to stop and visit the displays either during or on completion of their timed event.
The RCAF Run is pleased to offer two types of recognition for participants in the timed events.
This level of our award system acknowledges each runner’s placement within their age category in their event. This placement appears beside the runner’s name in the official results. There are no medals or physical awards for this recognition. The standard age categories that are used for this recognition are:
In the Half-Marathon, 10 km Race and 5 km Race Overall Awards are presented to the first three males and first three females in each event. To be eligible for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall Awards the runner must be first, second or third across the finish line. Runners interested in attempting for these awards should make sure that they marshal themselves in the front coral at the start line.
In order to encourage increased participation by youth special Youth Placement Awards are offered by the RCAF Run in the Half-Marathon, 10 km Race and 5 km Race.? 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Youth Awards are presented to the three males and three females with best completion times in each event. “Youth” is defined as 19 years of age and under on race day.
In order to recognize the lifelong commitment to fitness Masters’ Awards are offered by the RCAF Run. In the Half-Marathon, 10 km Race and 5 km Race. ?1st, 2nd and 3rd Masters’ Awards are presented to the three males and three females with best completion times in each event. “Masters” are defined as 40 years of age and over on race day.

Participants are encouraged to use active transportation and leave bicycles at the complimentary and secure Bicycle Valet service located in the Race Village.
Parking is not available at the race site but arrangements have been made for off-site parking and a free shuttle service to transport participants to the Race Village and start area.? This service is provided on a “first come, first served” basis and capacity are limited so participants should plan to come early for their race day event.
The following locations have generously agreed to permit the Run to use their lots for participant parking:
Race kit pick-up for all 5km Race, 10km Race and Half Marathon registrants will take place at the Fitness and Recreation Centre on Whytewold / Wihuri Road at 680 Whytewold Road in Winnipeg on Friday, May 25th, 2018 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday May 26th, 2018 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Registrants in the 3 km Family Fun Run/Walk DO NOT receive a race kit. Family Fun Run/Walk entrants must check in on race day in the Race Village to pick up their participation identification that is required at the start line and to receive a completion medal.
Out of town participants should contact the RCAF Run to make arrangements for their race kit pick-up.
Q. Can I wear a back-pack if I am running in the RCAF Run?
A. For security reasons, runners will not be permitted to wear backpacks.
Q. Can I get a refund if I am unable to participate in the Run?
A. No, entry fees are non-refundable.
Q. Can I push a stroller in the Family Fun Run?
A. Yes, strollers are allowed but proper running strollers are required on race routes for the safety of all.? No other form of conveyance (i.e. inline skates, bicycles, etc.) will be permitted.
Q. Can I run with my dog during the RCAF Run?
A. No, because you will be running on an active flight line and for the safety of other runners.
Q. Can my child use their bicycle on the event routes?
A. No, Nav Canada (the country’s civil air navigation services provider), prohibits the use of any transportation device that is not under the direct control of an adult on open flight lines.? Children’s wagons are permitted.
